How did the idea for "SpiceView Models" come about?
Well, I had a partner back in 2004 and things didn’t work out, so I left and started my own company. I wanted something to represent my country of birth and that’s where Spiceview came from. Grenada (Spice Island). Earlier this summer I teamed up with my partner William Chase, he got burned just like I did so it was a match made in heaven. He does all our marketing and public relations work.
What is your position within the project?
I'm the CEO, web designer and photographer.
How has the project grown or changed since its inception?
We have grown real big. Lots of projects, more contractors are working with us, and we are doing a lot of collaboration.
How large is the team that currently assists you with running this project?
About 10 of us.
During an average work week, how many hours do you spend working on the project?
24/7 I only sleep for 8 hours. The rest I am working, managing and making sure everyone is doing their part.
What's the most challenging part of maintaining or operating your website?
Finding reliable models that aren’t playing games.
What are your goals at the current time for "SpiceView Models"?
I am building an empire. Everyone is watching and waiting, we are coming at different angles.
What are some other projects you're working on, or anticipate working on in the future?
Well besides the modeling and photography and web design (http://svwebdesigns.com), we also teamed up with a company in Miami to do ring-tones ( HYPERLINK "http://svringtones.com" http://svringtones.com), my partner William launched a magazine called Urban Curves Magazine on Jan. 1st. HYPERLINK "http://urbancurves.net" http://urbancurves.net We are also coming out with our own clothing line, one for female and one for the fellas. We will be starting parties in Dallas, Virginia and Miami. We also want to open our own club in the future.
What part of operating "SpiceView Models" gives you the most enjoyment?
Working for myself. Not having someone tell me what to do. The freedom to travel if I have to and just the relaxation of knowing I can work when I want to.
Do you work a regular 9 to 5 job or is "SpiceView Models" your primary project?
No I don’t. Spiceview is my primary project. I am partially disabled right not, so I can’t work a 9-5.
What's your opinion of the industry regarding ethnic models today?
Well a model is going to do what she wants to do. Everyone say it’s wrong for a female to shake her ass in the videos, but who are we to judge. One thing about the industry that’s big is if you don’t pay attention to your business you will get used and abused.
If you could start this project all over again, from scratch, what would you do differently?
Nothing really, oh wait yea id spend my money I invested a lil wisely, but everything I’ve done always work itself out. So it’s a lesson learned.
What are the positive and negatives you've experienced when working with models?
Positives: Meet a lot of good people, the networking is key.
Negatives: Most models are unreliable. You give them an inch they want a foot. MOST WANT YOU TO DO ALL THE WORK FOR THEM AND THEY SIT ON THEIR ASS AND COLLECT A CHECK, it doesn’t work like that. They need to work hard, we are working hard for them, but we also need their help too.
What does "SpiceView Models" offer it's visitors that they won't necessarily or can't find on similar websites?
We build them websites in turn they promote us and allow us to promote them. Where else on the internet do you have a company that gives u a free website without you paying an arm and a leg? Especially one that’s knows what it is like to be burned.
Are there any current issues being dealt with today that cause you the most concern?
Everyone want something for free and don’t want to work hard. Especially in the black community, rarely you find us black folks working together and sharing the wealth.
Ok...unfortunately there will always be 'haters' lurking around. Have you experienced that since starting "SpiceView Models" and if so, how have you dealt with it?
Of course, that’s what makes it great, just knowing that others hate us, makes it worth it all. Knowing that we have accomplished something great is big.
Tell us some of things you couldn't live without?
My computer, Cable Internet, My immediate family and friends who has supported me through it all.
What advice would you give to people looking into creating or starting a project similiar to "SpiceView Models"?
Be patient, NOTHING is get rich quick. Be patient and network.
