How long have you been modeling?
I began modeling when I was twelve years old, stopped for about five years, then started again at age seventeen. So, technically I have been modeling consistently for about five years.
What made you decide to pursue a career in modeling?
I thought to myself one day, “I'm Pretty”. He He He…just kidding. Seriously, I love the fashion world; it’s sexy, fun and exciting. Even though it is a lot of hard work, the modeling industry can be very rewarding in the end.
What impact has modeling had on your personal life?
Well, the requirements of modeling have definitely raised my level of discipline and daily organizational skills. Not to mention, it has influenced me to maintain exceptional physical and mental health. In other words, It keeps me focused and in the gym.
Overall, what has been your opinion of the modeling industry as a whole?
The modeling industry is wonderful, but like everything else in the world of entertainment today, it’s not as easy as it may appear, and one can end up in bad predicaments if they don't know what they're doing.
What do you intend to gain or get out of your career in modeling?
I intend on gaining exposure to the masses in order to place myself in the position to influence others in a positive way, and to hopefully make someone smile.
What can visitors expect when they visit your website?
Among other things, visitors can expect to find uniqueness, style, and creativity when they visit Crysmarie.com.
Have strangers started approaching you on the street because they've seen your website and how does that make you feel?
Well, no. No one has approached me as of yet because of my website. I recently put it up, and don’t think that many people know about it yet. Hopefully, with a little networking and interviewing such as this, that will change in the near future. It would definitely make me smile and feel special to know that someone saw me on the street and remembered me from my site.
What are some of the projects you're currently working on?
I am currently working on a swimsuit catalog with fashion designer, Monica Argueta of Mobri Clothing Co., and The Women of the Caribbean 2006 calendar. Why? Got any work for me? He He He…just kidding. No, but really...got any work for me?
What are your turn-ons?
Professionalism and honesty turn me on.
What are your turn-offs?
I despise Dishonesty, poor business savvy, and bad hygiene.
Name some things you couldn't live without?
Well, first off, the absolutely one thing that I could not live without is the grace and guidance from my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, that, and egg and cheese omelets for breakfast.
How would you describe your overall personality?
I can be a little too silly and crazy at times...so they say; but, overall I'm very energetic, caring, and love to have fun and entertain others. I like making people laugh.
Tell us one thing about yourself that tends to shock people once they get to know you personally?
Well, when I do let people in on the personal side of me, they’re usually shocked at how goofy I can be.
What would you consider your greatest strength?
My greatest strength would have to be my ability to maintain my composure in extremely stressful situations.
What would you consider your greatest physical asset?
I consider my eyes to be my greatest physical asset.
What signals do you give to a man when you want him to make the first move?
Distinctive eye contact is the most affective way for me to let a man know that I'm feeling him, and desire his approach.
What signals do you give a man when you want him to stay away?
Ha Ha...(I just had a flash back). I would probably not answer his phone calls.
What is the one thing you wish all men knew about women?
Considering all women are different, I would have to say that all men should be aware of women’s individual needs. The same things don’t move us all. Listen to her and find out what SHE likes.
Give us an example of what you'd consider the perfect first date?
The perfect first date would have to be dinner on the beach(south beach to be exact), candles and a portable DVD player to watch a movie under the moonlight.
Regarding the gentlemen you date, name one quality they must possess and why?
Honesty, because I think an honest man is a real man.
If you had to make a choice...today...of the one place on earth to live out the rest of your life, where would it be and why?
Trinidad is my place of choice because it’s my hometown and its so peaceful there…no stresses or worries.
What are your opinions on the state of the black male today?
There are no other males quite like the black males on this planet. They are wonderful creatures, and I love them.
When a gentleman attempts to approach you in public, give us some advice on how it should be done?
Well, its best to be cool, relaxed, and don’t sweat the lady.
Give us a description of a normal evening at home with you?
Lately, my normal evenings at home consist of a ton of homework, studying, and a Blockbuster movie.
Overall today theres a lot of talk regarding sisters and the whole bisexual movement, if you want to call it that. What are your personal feelings regarding this rising 'phenomenon' among black women?
People are going to do what they want. So, if homosexuality makes them happy, then so be it. I, personally don't indulge in that type of lifestyle, but don't deem it necessary or my place to judge those who do.
What are your thoughts regarding brothers on the DL(Down Low)? This seems to be a growing issue with our sisters today.
Hey, keep it real! We(women) have enough drama to deal with from straight men.
Are there any current issues that the African-American community's dealing with that cause you the most concerns?
Poverty and unemployment, in those regards, are of my deepest concern. There is absolutely too much of both.
Ok...unfortunately there will always be 'haters' lurking around. Have you experienced that in your modeling endeavors and if so, how have you dealt with it?
Oh yeah, haters are everywhere. I simply use their "haterism" as an inspirational and motivational force in this industry though. It allows me to realize that my presence is not overlooked, and it gives me more incentive to be successful. With that being said, I would like to take this time out to publicly thank those haters for helping me with my career. You guys are wonderful, and I couldn’t have done it without you.
What are some of your other interest outside of modeling?
I enjoy learning new things. I'm currently in college pursuing a degree in Broadcasting. I also enjoy acting and writing poetry and songs. I’m currently assisting an upcoming R&B artist out of Miami with song lyrics for her album.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
In 5 years I will be graduating from college with my Broadcast/Communication degree, and working on my talk show.
So in closing, what advice would you give to young women considering a career in modeling?
DO NOT, give your money away to every agency you come across. Always be very professional, and never, ever, give up on your dreams. Everyone has a chance to make an impact in the world today.
